ABCCI, the first officially registered Chamber of Commerce between the two nations hosted its inauguration ceremony

Australia Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ABCCI), the first officially registered Chamber of Commerce between the two nations hosted its inauguration ceremony on Thursday evening, 29th September 2022 at Encore Events Centre in Hoppers Crossing, Melbourne, Australia.

The Chamber officially commenced as a registered corporate body on the 22nd December 2021 by approval of the Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC) with the goal of providing business and trade support between two countries and helping Bangladeshi entrepreneurs in Australia.

The ceremony was initiated with the national anthems of the respective nations and displayed an honorary tribute to the Traditional Owners, Aboriginal Elders and the past communities as the forefathers of the nation of Australia.

Md Zahangir Alom, President of ABCCI, presented the long journey of the formation of ABCCI.

The Chamber officially commenced as a registered corporate body on the 22nd December 2021 by approval of the Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC) with the goal of providing business and trade support between two countries and helping Bangladeshi entrepreneurs in Australia.ALP gave a brief speech. He shared their party policies that are important for the growth of businesses in Australia.

A few notable Australian politicians from the Australian Labor Party (ALP) and the Liberal Party were also present at the event. Amongst them, Mr. Richard Riordan MP, Shadow minister of local government, housing and resources, Preet Singh from LP, Josh Gilligan, and Mathew Hilakari from ALP gave a brief speech. He shared their party policies that are important for the growth of businesses in Australia.

ABCCI sets out to bring its members and their business under an institutional framework by creating business communities that focus on resources such as information about Legal and Governmental policies, Free Trade Agreement Policies, market information, barriers of import & export, customs and logistics updates, bank loans, funding, legal advice etc.

Bangladeshi Community Leader and renowned business owner, Mr. Kamrul Chowdhury talked about how the chamber can progress and help the business community in Australia.

Mohammed Sayem Razzak, Joint Secretary and International Business and Chambers Liaison Secretary, ABCCI, shared the mission statement and explained how ABCCI is equipped to provide necessary services and resources to empower its members.

Abdullah Rubel, Joint Secretary, ABCCI had delivered ABCCI’s plan to equip new businesses with efficient resources that will allow businesses to build better rapport within the Australian business ecosystem.

ABCCI’s General Secretary Md Mahtab Uddin Khan Litu thanked everyone for participating in the event and sought feedback from the audience on how ABCCI can be made a better place.

The event concluded with a gala dinner and networking session.
